Cosmetic Surgery - Finance
One of the major concerns facing anyone contemplating having any cosmetic procedure is going to be the cost of the procedure. In particular, how you're going to be able to pay for that procedure. We will look at some ball-park figures you might be expected to pay, and how you might be able to finance such treatment.

Paying For Your Cosmetic Surgery Procedure
Having determined the cosmetic surgery that you wish to have done, and now knowing the ball-park figure you can expect to pay, the next issue is how you can finance the procedure.
Health Insurance
As cosmetic surgery is an elective procedure, i.e. you choose to have the procedure done - rather than needing it to be done, most health insurance programs will not cover the cost, unless there is a compelling reason.
One exception you may find is with dental cosmetic surgery, which may be included as part of your dental plan. As such, without recourse to their health insurance plan, most people contemplating having any cosmetic surgery done need to consider alternative ways to finance the procedure.
Cosmetic Surgery Loan
A number of financial institutions, on-line loan companies, regular loan companies, and possibly cosmetic surgery centers themselves will assist patients to pay for their treatment by means of a cosmetic surgery loan. A loan of this nature works very much the same way as any normal loan; namely you borrow a set amount which you are required to pay back within a certain period of time, usually by means of making equal [monthly] instalments, with a set rate of interest accruing thereon.
Two reasons why taking out a cosmetic surgery loan may be a sensible option are:
- the interest rate on the repayment may be lower than with other methods of funding the procedure
- you retain some choice over where you have the treatment done (however, some loan companies will specify the treatment center, so if you have a particular center in mind, make sure it is approved).
Credit Card
Another means of paying for your cosmetic surgery procedure is to pay for it on your credit card. Most surgeries accept all major credit card companies. Consequently, payment in this way should be simple.
However, keep in mind the interest rates youll be charged and make sure you have enough of a credit card limit to be able to afford the treatment. Having said that, payment via credit card does give you the freedom to chose exactly where you have the treatment without the need to look at the fine print of a cosmetic loan agreement.
Savings
Finally, one sure way of making sure you can pay for your cosmetic surgery procedure is to pay cash! Cash is king and paying by means of cash savings means that you neither have to worry about any interest and repayment method, nor will you be restricted in choosing a treatment center. That said, too few of us can afford to fund a full cosmetic surgery procedure from cash savings.
